Find the Problem Before Replacing Parts

Diagnosis Before Guesswork

A diagnostic trouble code is a starting point, not automatically the answer. Similar symptoms can be caused by different electrical, mechanical, sensor, or wiring problems.

Codes Are Clues, Not Answers

Mokanex focuses on testing the actual concern instead of simply replacing the part named in a code description. Proper inspection and testing help narrow down the real cause.

Test Before Replacing

Look at the Whole Picture

That means looking at the vehicle’s symptoms, scan data, wiring, components, and other relevant information before recommending repairs whenever possible.

Clear Answers Before Repairs

The goal is simple: reduce guesswork, avoid unnecessary parts replacement, and give you a clearer understanding of what your vehicle actually needs.

MOBILE DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES

Common Vehicle Problems We Diagnose

Warning Lights & Engine Problems

Check engine lights, dashboard warnings, rough idle, misfires, hesitation, stalling, and loss of power can all point to different underlying problems. We use the vehicle’s symptoms and available diagnostic information to help narrow down the cause.

Starting, Battery & Charging Problems

No-crank, crank-but-won’t-start, intermittent starting, dead-battery concerns, and charging problems can involve the battery, starter, alternator, wiring, connections, or other components. Proper testing helps determine where the fault actually is.

Electrical & Sensor Problems

Electrical faults can cause warning lights, malfunctioning components, intermittent problems, and unusual vehicle behavior. Diagnosis may involve scan data, wiring inspection, electrical testing, sensors, circuits, and related components.

Overheating, Noises & Drivability

Overheating, fluid leaks, strange noises, vibrations, poor acceleration, and other drivability concerns can have many possible causes. Mokanex helps investigate the symptoms and determine what should be tested or repaired next.

6. Review the Next Steps

We explain what we found and what the vehicle may need next, giving you a clearer path toward the appropriate repair.

5. Narrow Down the Cause

The information gathered during testing helps narrow down what is causing the problem so repairs can be based on evidence instead of unnecessary parts replacement.

4. Inspect & Test

We evaluate the symptoms and perform appropriate diagnostic testing based on the concern. This may include scan data, electrical testing, visual inspection, or other relevant checks.

3. We Come to You

Instead of taking your vehicle to a repair shop, a Mokanex technician comes to your home, workplace, or other suitable location in the Baltimore service area.

2. Tell Us What’s Happening

Give us as much information as you can about the concern—warning lights, noises, starting problems, when the issue occurs, or anything else you’ve noticed.

1. Request Service

Start by submitting a service request and telling us where the vehicle is located. Mokanex provides mobile automotive service throughout the Baltimore area.

A Trouble Code Is Only the Beginning

A diagnostic trouble code tells us that the vehicle detected a problem within a particular system or circuit. It gives us an important place to start, but it doesn’t automatically mean the component named in the code description has failed. The same code can sometimes have several possible causes.

Mokanex uses trouble codes together with the vehicle’s symptoms and other available diagnostic information to narrow down the actual problem. Depending on the concern, that can include live scan data, electrical testing, wiring inspection, visual checks, or mechanical testing before recommending the next repair.

What to know before requesting service

Mobile work needs safe, permitted access. Tire services, brake-line replacement and major internal engine work are not part of our mobile offering. Some repairs need a shop or specialist equipment. Appointments are scheduled after the team reviews your location and repair needs.

For Maryland safety or emissions inspections, use the appropriate authorized inspection program; an on-site repair or diagnosis does not issue an inspection certificate. Maryland MVA inspection information →
